TIP-EX Punch

In a laminectomy, the vertebral arch with the spinous process is removed from one or more vertebrae to make space for spinal cord or disc surgery or to relieve excessive pressure.

A laminectomy punch is needed to remove the vertebral arch. If the punch is used to punch the bone, after a certain time it can happen that the tip is not sharp anymore or damaged (bent). It may be possible to repair it, but in some cases the punch must be discarded.

As a solution of the problem described above, we have developed a new laminectomy punch, the «TIP-EX punch – the punch with EXchangeable TIPs«.

  • The tip can be easily replaced in the event of a defect
→ Cost saving, as the handle (= 2/3 of the cost) can be reused.
  • The handles can be disassembled
    → perfect sterilization is possible
  • Five different widths (1 to 5mm) of the tips are available. The length of the tips is always the same and the length of the instrument is determined by the handle.
→ The tips are always available on stock and a fast delivery or own stock keeping is possible (regardless of the length of the instrument).
